The Namao Flying Club was founded in 1972 with a mission statement of providing low cost training and rentals to our members. Take pride that as a member, you are a part owner of the club. Located at Villeneuve Airport, Edmonton's primary training airport and just 20 minutes from the city, you can make the most of every flight training dollar.

The Namao Flying Club is a Licensed Vocational school with Alberta Enterprise & Advanced Education.

Our CPL, Multi-engine, IFR and Instructor Rating courses are all eligible for student financing.
Unfortunately, we are not licensed to accept international students.

As a truly not-for-profit organization, we offer attractive savings over other local flying schools and aircraft rentals. We provide some of the lowest rates in Canada.

We also offer tailwheel and aerobatics training for those adventurous types looking for a new challenge!

Where do i start?

Come down and tour our facility with one of our friendly front desk staff. Get a feel for where everything is and how the club works. Next get yourself registered while you’re at the club, let us know what types of rating and licensing you’re interested in. As you’re filling in the registration form we will set up your first ground briefing with an instructor. We can also sign you up for the next upcoming ground-school classes. The Club has year round ground school and it starts every 16 weeks.

The Namao Flying Club is a member owned and operated club located at Villeneuve Airport. Whether you are a licensed pilot, new to the aviation industry or looking to start or continue your training, the Namao Flying Club is where you want to be.

If you are the type of person who likes to become involved in a volunteer organization, you will be rewarded with lower costs for your flight training or recreational flying. This cost savings is available because members perform all basic maintenance functions such as refueling, oil replenishment, and aircraft cleaning/sanitizing. Our members also help run the club and contribute where they can.

Our facilities include a hangar, office, sim room, and classroom. Some supplies may be purchased from us.

We are located at the Villeneuve airport, which is ideal for training and recreational aviation. Come and see what we have to offer, such as reduced air traffic, minimum transit time to the practice area and a friendly community.

Our spacious apron and hangar offer ample maneuvering space, along with on-site fueling. Our members participate in the positioning of aircraft around the facility, which gives them experience not available elsewhere.
