Recreational Pilot Permit

Recreational Pilot Permit (RPP)

The Recreational Pilot Permit provides you the freedom to fly without having to meet the higher requirements of a Private Pilot License. This permit has the following conditions:

  1. You may command a single engine aircraft with a max of four seats

  2. You may take a max of one passenger

  3. You may fly only during the day, and in VFR weather conditions.

  4. You may not add any additional ratings on top of this permit.

    1. Aka no night or instrument flying

With respect to the Rec permit in comparison to the PPL training requirement, there is no instrument training and there is a heavily reduced navigation training requirement.
